The franchise of Fast & Furious is a long-standing series that has given back-to-back hits in all these years. The first part of the franchise came out on 22nd June 2001; it has been entertaining audiences with its high-flying shining cars and guns. The second part of the series titled 2 Fast 2 Furious, directed by John Singleton and written by Gary Scott Thompson, Michael Brandt and Derek Haas. The third movie in the franchise was titled The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift that has been directed by Justin Lin and written by Chris Morgan.
The Fast & Furious, the fourth movie, Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6, is directed by the same director: Justin Lin. The seventh movie Furious 7, was directed by James Wan and the Fate Of The Furious by F. Gary Gary. All these movies have created a massive fan following who are now eagerly waiting for the eighth movie. Once planned to be released in 2019, for some reason, it got delayed and further pushed back during the Covid-19 pandemic.
What Can We Expect From Fast & Furious 9 That Is Set To Hit The Theatres In June?
Filmmaker Justin Lin initially thought this would be one whole movie where he had to combine many things into a two-hour feature film. He said that the star of the movie Vin Diesel suggested that they can create a saga that lasts for three consecutive films instead of making a complete story. The saga starts with the ninth franchise and will end in the eleventh. This excited Justin as he said he had got much real estate to experiment and expand the movie. There are many characters in the film whose story is still left to be told. And this saga of the trilogy will help in the unfolding of everyone’s background so that audience feels satisfied with the ending.
The plot of the ninth film will revolve around the lives of Dominic Torreto and his family as they face a threat from Jakob. Jakob is Toretto’s younger brother working for Cipher, who’s an enemy of the family. By working against his elder brother, Jakob wants to end his brother’s life as he has a personal rebellion and resentment against him.
The Star Cast Of Fast & Furious 9
The movie trailer dropped on 14th April and awakened the Furious fandom, who are all set to experience the action drama. The actors playing in the movie are Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, John Cena, Chris Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, and Charlie Theron. The original cast with the character Brien O’Çonner set the stage for the success of the film. The character of Brien was played by the late Paul Walker, who passed away shortly after the second film. Director Justin said that the audience would see a small guest appearance of the character Brien as they don’t want to keep him off the screen with just his voice-over. The star cast, especially Diesel, feels he was a powerful protagonist, and we need to feel his presence in the Furious Universe.
The Grand Entry Of John Cena Into The Fast & Furious Universe
After the late Paul Walker’s character left the franchise, there was a lack of a powerful cast in the film. Vin Diesel and the casting director have been auditioning actors from all backgrounds and cultures, but no one could fit the bill. Co-incidentally, once John Cena entered the training grounds where Vin was practicing, the star took him in Jakob Toretto’s role, who is plotting to kill his brother. Vin shared that the moment Cena walked in, somehow in his heart, he strongly felt that the late Paul Walker has only sent him on behalf of him. Without wasting any time, he quickly signed John into the franchise, and we are all pleased to see him back into action.
The film trailer also showed the high quality of action drama that was much awaited for a very long time. Apart from flying cars and magnets pulling in huge vehicles, we also see the handsome Cena with his muscles putting in all the villains behind bars.
