Hosted by singer Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton, the 56th Academy of country music awards took place in Nashville. Guyton, now thirty-seven, is a singer and songwriter herself. This year she became the first Black woman to co-host the award show, adding another feather to her cap. Mickey also gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, and she has been scoring the top position since her song “Black Like Me” was released. This year she also performed on her song, “Hold On,” which she said was written as a prayer song.
The singer, who is now a mother of one, has hit the Canadian chart of number one with her latest song. She looked so graceful while performing the calming song in her Navy Blue gown. What’s even more amazing is that this song also helped earn a massive amount of money to help the Covid-19 victims. It raised a total of 3.4 million, which helped those whose jobs were closed down during the pandemic. Their jobs entailed moving around, touring for concerts, and the indefinite shutdown; it helped to pay their salaries.
The Unforgettable Performances At The Academy Of Country Music Awards
It cannot be possible that we talk about ACM and not talk about Carrie Underwood and Cece’s mind-blowing performance. Apart from all the glamour and fashion that we saw at the show’s outset, the highlight was the song, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” which transformed the entire evening of showbiz into a sacred place like a Church. The graceful and lovely-looking Carrie Underwood took the stage and shook the entire auditorium with her fantastic vocals. The singer wore a slivery and Creamy White gown that enhanced her look for the evening.
Joining her was Cece Winans, the legendary Gospel singer of the country. Ceece wore a hand-stitched floral gown that was Black. Her short curly hair gave her a complete look as she got lost in the song’s verses. The duo complimented each other and made the evening show look like a morning at the church. The stage was also beautifully decorated with stained glass windows as the backdrop and band members playing guitars and singing wearing White.
Luke Bryan Surprised Everyone With His Virtual Presence
Ever since country music star Luke Bryan announced that he has tested for Corona Virus, everyone thought he is quarantining. The singer left the show American Idol, Season 19, in which he was a member of the jury panel along with Katy Perry and Riche. However, Luke promised to show up on the award show, which confused everyone. Host Keith Urban too did not have a clue when Bryan said he would show up. He just asked the makers where the hell was Luke Bryan, and just as he said, a video popped up behind him on the large screen. Luke Bryan, who won the award for EntertainerEntertainer of the year, attended the show virtually from his residence in Los Angeles. This not only surprised everyone but also it was a relief seeing him healthy and fine.
Singers Who Went Out Of Tune
Singers of glad you exist had pre-recorded their show, and just when they started playing, the due out of sync. It became very clear for everyone that they were just lip-syncing, and viewers quickly trolled them on Twitter. What otherwise would have been a sweet rendition of the song making the evening even more beautiful turned out to be one of the wtf moments of the show. The pandemic has seriously hit us hard; now, let’s look at what else we will lose out on.
